ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- St. George police have arrested six teenage boys for a string of burglaries in Ivins that resulted in nearly $50,000 in losses and damages.
Police Chief Wade Carpenter says two groups of boys were responsible for 17 residential burglaries, three at the Tuacahn theater and one at a construction site.
Losses included more than $5,800 in residential property damage and $17,699 in property losses. Robberies at the theater and construction site totaled $26,433 in property loss. About half of the missing property has been recovered.
The boys range in age from 14 to 17 and were working separately in groups of three. Police say one group has confessed to nine burglaries.
Three of the boys are brothers. Police say they could face more than five felony charges.
