(KSL News) New details are emerging in the case of an alleged attack by a University of Utah employee on a former co-worker.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Qin Cai waited for the 41-year-old woman in a parking lot on Tuesday then attacked her with a rubber mallet.

Charging documents state he then forced her into the back of her own car and tried to tape her mouth closed. When someone approached the car, Cai reportedly got out and the woman drove away.

Cai is now charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault and stalking.
