OREM — A fire Thursday at 801 Racing in Orem caused $300,000 in damage to a vehicle and the business.
The fire was reported at 12:36 p.m. at 270 N. Geneva Road. Two employees were pumping fuel additives behind the 801 Racing building when the hose they were using broke and poured the mix on a hot pump.
Two-hundred gallons of fuel ignited, catching a Ford Taurus and the building on fire. Engines from Orem and Provo fought the fire, which had spread to the attic, for two hours.
There were no injuries.
