SALT LAKE CITY — A worker died in an industrial accident Friday while working on a piece of machinery that collapsed on him.

Inoke Langi, 34, was working at Cambelt, a company that produces conveyor belts located at 2820 W. Directors Row, when a piece of machinery collapsed on him shortly after 1 p.m., said Salt Lake fire spokesman Scott Freitag.

"He sustained crushing injuries to his torso. It is unknown at this time why the machinery moved while he was underneath it," he said.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident. Langi's body was released to the medical examiner for an autopsy.
