This is Marty Carpenter of the Salt Lake Chamber with your Utah Business report.

Tomorrow is a big day in downtown Salt Lake City—and a big day for our entire state. At 5 a.m. shopping begins at the new, highly anticipated City Creek Center.

The 700- thousand square foot shopping and dining district is described as a one-of-a-kind experience featuring bold architecture, a retractable skylight roof, a sky bridge over Main Street and lively water features including a creek that weaves through the property and fountains designed by the same group that created the famous Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas.

Over 90 restaurants and stores including Nordstom and Macy's will call City Creek Center home. Housing units like apartments and condos are also in the finishing stages.

Tonight, the City Creek Center will host an exclusive charity and shopping event from 6-30 to 9-30. Tickets are 50 dollars with every cent going to the benefitting charities: Ballet West, The Road Home, Utah's Hogle Zoo and the Junior League of Salt Lake City.
