SALT LAKE CITY -- Police arrested a 26-year-old man this week who is suspected of robbing a 7-Eleven convenience store in early February.

Joseph Anthony Zamorran was booked into the Salt Lake County Adult Detention Center Monday on an aggravated robbery charge -- a first degree felony.


Police say he used (makeup) as a disguise to conceal tattoos while be robbed the 7-Eleven store.

Zamorran was dubbed the "Clown Bandit" due to makeup and face paint, which included large red circles on his cheeks. Police say he used it as a disguise to conceal tattoos while be robbed the 7-Eleven store.

South Salt Lake police investigators were able to act on a tip provided by an Adult Probation & Parole Agent who recognized Zamorran from the publicly released surveillance video.

Zamorran was walking down the street in South Salt Lake City when he was arrested and taken into custody.
