(KSL News) The Utah Youth Village handed out its prestigious "Helping Hand Award" tonight. This year's recipient is Dr. Rodney Brady, President and CEO of Deseret Management Corporation and former chief of Bonneville International Corporation, the parent company of KSL.

The honor is for his work with Utah's children, but as usual, Dr. Brady said the honor really goes to those who make the Utah Youth Village work. "Particularly the home parents and the service providers who are on the very front line every hour of every day, working with the youth. What a challenge, but what a wonderful thing that they do," he said.

The program also featured a video showing Dr. Brady's work in education, government, broadcasting, and perhaps his favorite, scouting.

Dr. Brady was President of Weber State University from 1978 to 1985.
