SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Two killers who escaped from a county jail were indicted on federal gun charges.

Danny Gallegos and Juan Diaz-Arevalo had three firearms when they were captured in Wyoming on Sept. 29, six days after escaping from the Daggett County jail in eastern Utah.

Authorities say they took the guns from a 79-year-old man and also stole his Ford Explorer. The men are charged with carjacking as well as two charges related to possessing the firearms.

Gallegos was shot by a Wyoming officer when he refused to drop a rifle. He's in fair condition at University of Utah Hospital.
