VERNAL — A 25-year-old man staying at the Econolodge Motel was hit by a stray bullet early Saturday that police determined came through the wall from the next room.

Police arrested 26-year-old Kyle Weaver, the tenant in the next room, and booked him into the Uintah County Jail for investigation of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by an intoxicated person and unlawful discharge of a firearm, according to a release from the Vernal Police Department.

The injured man was treated for a superficial head wound at the Ashley Regional Medical Center and released.
