KEARNS — Speed skater Derek Parra represents Utah's Olympic Legacy that continues to assist future athletes. He now coaches young speed skaters at the Kearns Olympic Oval.

Parra had a memorable Olympic experience in 2002: He was one of eight U.S. athletes to carry the ground zero American flag during Opening Ceremonies.
