(KSL News) A prescribed burn near Zion National Park has closed several trails.
The fire was set yesterday to maintain the park's boundary protection and reduce hazardous fuels.
The Pine Valley Peak prescribed fire originally was scheduled for late September, but was postponed due to weather. It's expected to smolder for five days.
The Wildcat Canyon Trail, which leads to the Subway, Northgate Peaks and Hop Valley Connector Trails, will be closed until the burn is complete.
