(KSL News) -- Businesses from across Utah gathered today to focus on the Hispanic community.

The Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted the convention. Business leaders discussed the growth of the Hispanic community and how to break into that market.

Carlos Linares, Executive Director UHCC: "Obviously, within Salt Lake City, we're seeing a massive, I would say explosive, growth within the Hispanic market."

There are over 300,000 Hispanics living in Utah and they own 5,000 businesses. This is the first convention for Hispanic Business within Utah and organizers plan on more events in the future.
