(KSL News) A former South Salt Lake police officer is going to jail for 30 days for fondling a woman during a traffic stop.
Scott Craig Daniels pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery.
A woman says Daniels pulled her over, then inappropriately touched her for nearly an hour in April 2005. Daniels attorney claims the physical contact lasted "only a few seconds."
Prosecutors recommended Daniels face no jail time but home confinement, community service and a hefty fine, instead.
But the judge, citing Daniels apparent lack of remorse, said jail time fit the crime.
