Bonneville cutthroat trout are a sub-species of the cutthroat trout. Bonneville Cutthroat were once thought to be extinct in Utah. But, through restoration efforts by the Utah DWR, Bonneville cutthroat trout now occupy about 35 % of their historic range in Utah.

Our question tonight is..Can you name all four sub-species of the cutthroat trout that are native to Utah? The answer, next up on KSL Outdoors, powered by Ford.

And here's the answer. According to the Division of Wildlife Resources the four sub-species are: The Bonneville, the Yellowstone, the Colorado River and the Greenback Cutthroat.

Bonneville cutthroat populations exist in all management areas of Utah. The Yellowstone Cutthroat is native to the North Slope of the Raft River mountains, the Colorado Cutthroat is native to the Colorado River Basin and the rare greenback cutthroat trout was recently discovered in a small creek in the LaSal Mountains east of Moab.
