(Deseret Morning News) A newly released report says nearly 600 Utah communities are at risk for wildfires.

The Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands says so far, 100 communities have created wildfire protection plans and 50 more are in progress.

Extreme Risk Wildfires Communities

  • Fruitland, Duchesne County
  • Quichapa, Iron County
  • Eureka, Juab County
  • Kanosh and Oak City, Millard County

The communities considered at extreme risk include Fruitland, Duchesne County, Quichapa, Iron County, Eureka, Juab County, Kanosh and Oak City, Millard County. High Risk Wildfire Counties

  • Wayne
  • Sanpete
  • Sevier
  • Cache
  • Garfield

Other high-risk counties including Wayne, Sanpete, Sevier, Cache and Garfield.
