(KSL News) -- Two-years of neighbor battling-neighbor is over; Wal-Mart is coming to Sandy.
Today at a groundbreaking ceremony, city and store officials talked about their plans for the building. They're going to build a state-of-the-art facility unlike any other Wal-Mart in Utah. Sandy Mayor Tom Dolan is excited about the project.
Tom Dolan, Mayor of Sandy: "I felt from all the way along that this was something that was beneficial to the community for years and years to come."
Plans for the building were met with much dispute from many community members, who fought the Big Box store all the way to the state Supreme Court.
