HILL AIR FORCE BASE —Col. Sarah E. Zabel, commander of the 75th Air Base Wing, Ogden Air Logistics Center, is among 39 colonels nominated to the rank of brigadier general.

Nominations are made by the president and confirmed by the Senate.

"I'm grateful for this general officer nomination and opportunity to continue to serve our Air Force," Zabel said in a press release. "My tour at Hill Air Force Base as commander of the 75th Air Base Wing continues to be the highlight of my career. The men and women here who perform that mission are second to none and I'm proud to be part of such a great team."

The promotion is not tied to plans to change the structure of the civilian workforce at Hill, as recently announced by the Air Force, nor is it linked to a particular job requiring a one-star general. "She would at some point move to a position that's designated for a brigadier general," said base spokesman Rich Essary.
