SALT LAKE CITY - No. 1 Lone Peak capped its dream season on Friday at Rice-Eccles Stadium by running away Fremont for the 41-21 victory in the 5A championship.
It was a dominant game by Lone Peak quarterback Chase Hansen, who recorded three passing touchdowns and two passing TDs. In the first half alone he had 398 yards of total offense, finishing with 475.
Despite Hansen's big plays, Fremont kept it close in the first half, only trailing 21-13 after Nick Vigil scrambled 55 yards for a score midway through the second quarter.
By the time Fremont scored again, Lone Peak had tacked on three more touchdowns building a 41-13 leading before the 'Wolves scored a late touchdown.
Friday's loss was the second straight 5A title game loss for Fremont, which lost to Bingham in last year's championship.
It was a relatively sloppy game for both teams as Lone Peak and Fremont each turned it over five times.
