SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A 44-year-old man convicted of murder when he was 15 has been granted a parole date of April eleventh.
Johnny Angelo Perez was one of Utah's youngest offenders to be put in an adult prison.
He was accused of stabbing Henry Topping Junior 44 times during a robbery at the Ben Lomond Hotel in Ogden.
The state Board of Pardons and Parole announced the release date last week. It also said Perez must complete a halfway house release program and mental health therapy.
