(KSL News) The Days of 47 celebration is still several months away, but tonight one of the first events for 2006: The naming of the Day's of 47 Royalty!
Fifty contestants participated in the pageant. The first round of judging took place last night, then there were two more rounds today.
Members of the Royalty receive college scholarship money-- each attendant gets 25-hundred and the Queen receives 3-thousand dollars.
So, here's the 2006 royalty that the judges named a short while ago:
- The Queen is Nichole Harr, a student at BYU;
- The First attendant is Rachel Orgill;
- Second attendant is Melissa Linford.
The Day's of 47 Royalty maintains a busy summertime schedule, speaking at luncheons and banquets, and during July will attend all of the Days of 47 activities.
