(KSL News) The prosecution of polygamous leader Warren Jeffs appears to be influencing other polygamist sects to stop the marrying of children.

Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff tells the Deseret Morning News several sects have told him they will not perform child-bride marriages anymore.

Shurtleff says members from one group recently came to his office saying they won't marry anyone under the age of 18.

Many groups contend they never performed child marriages.
