(KSL News) Sixty members of the Utah Air National Guard's 109th Air Control Squadron departed today for Southwest Asia.

The unit provides radar surveillance, identification and command and control of coalition aircraft for combatant commanders.

This is their fourth deployment in seven years.

The unit has served in Kuwait, provided radar cover of the Western U.S. in the days after 9-11 and spent seven months in Iraq.

This latest tour is expected to last about four months.
