(KSL News) -- A Smith's grocery store removed a candy from its shelves when children who ate the candy also consumed prescription drugs, believed to have been inside the box.
Salt Lake County Sheriff's deputies say the Nestle Nerds candy came from a Smith's store in Herriman. A daycare provider dumped the candy into a bowl and noticed what looked like a pill.
She took three children to the hospital for fear of what they might have eaten. One tested positive for opiates and was treated and released.
Smith's then removed the remaining Grape-Strawberry Nerds from its shelves.
Nestle, Poison Control, and the FBI are investigating.
