LOS ANGELES, Mar 14, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Rocker Melissa Etheridge is recording and touring for the first time since being proclaimed cancer-free in October.
Etheridge, who successfully fought off breast cancer, will start her tour June 30 in Long Beach, Calif., with more dates to be announced, Rolling Stone reported.
Etheridge told the magazine she plans on releasing an album of new material this year to reflect her "new perspective and focus on life."
If that's not enough, she is also developing a comedy show for ABC, Rolling Stone said.
The show portrays what the lesbian rocker's life may have been life if she had stayed in her hometown of Leavenworth, Kan., she said.
"It's just a blue-girl-in-a-red-state sort of story," she said.
