Marc Giauque reportingAn Ogden group is considering offering a reward to help find whoever stole a statue from the city's historic 25th Street. Its among more than a dozen statues that were donated to the city before the Olympics.
The statues are on the city's Gold Medal Mile. It stretches along 25th street, then goes North on Washington. Wasatch Pathways helped raise money for the three-thousand dollar works of art, featuring children. One of them, titled "Boy with Bicycle" was recently broken off its pedestal.
Helene Leibman: "It's probably laying around in some gutter, or somebody's vacant lot somewhere. Now, I doubt that, I mean I suspect they took it just because they had nothing better to do."
Helene Leibman of Weber Pathways hopes someone will come forward with information. In recent years, three statues have been either stolen or vandalized.
