Cleon Wall, KSL NewsradioSalt Lake City is planning on adding another store to Trolley Square, but some major changes would need to be made.

The proposal would allow crews to build a new Whole Foods store within the existing parking lot of Trolley Square, but it would take up a lot of parking space.

Salt Lake City Planning Director George Shaw says, "They would be adding terraced parking to the project to make up for that."

Shaw says any construction would require careful planning, especially since Trolley Square is an historic landmark. Shaw says, "How do you reinvest in this gem of a site and still try to protect the historic nature of it?"

Shaw says developers are trying to speed the project up.

Some architects say parts of the construction have already started.
