TOOELE VALLEY -- At Miller Motorsports Park this weekend, October 8-9, the Miller Park Racing Association will contest its final regular-season race of the year on Saturday and Sunday, and the MMP Quarter-Midget Championship will be racing on the Miller Kart Track for the final time in 2011 on Saturday morning only.

The Miller Park Racing Association (MPRA), MMP's local sports car racing series, will contest the final round of this year's seven-round championship on the 4.5-mile Full Course. Each round includes two races, one each on Saturday and Sunday. Competing cars run the gamut from Mazda Miatas to Ford Mustangs, Porsche 911s and Chevrolet Corvettes as well as single-seat, open-wheeled formula cars. Also appearing on Saturday is Round 7 of the 2011 Lap Battle championship, a locally-based eight-round Time Attack series. Lap Battle offers rear-wheel-drive, front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive classes for both street and race cars. The Lap Battle contestants will also take to the track on Sunday, but in a non-competitive, Open Track Day format.

Meanwhile, on Saturday only, the Utah Quarter-Midget Championship will take place on the 0.2-mile oval course at the Miller Kart Track. This will be the season finale for the 10-round series.

Admission for this weekend is priced at $6 per day for adults, and kids 12 and under are admitted free of charge.
