JACKSON, Miss. — An Orem man has died after being run over in a Mississippi store parking lot early Friday morning.
Police responded to a hit-and-run accident at the parking of a Target store around 3 a.m. Friday. When they arrived, they found Scotty Ford, 22, had been run over.
Police say Ford and Jacob England, 20, had been fighting. Words were exchanged and then the Ford and his friends went back into their vehicle. That’s when, according to Jackson police spokeswoman Colendula Green, England ran over Ford.
Ford was rushed to the hospital with injuries to his mid-section. KSL News has learned from friends and family members that Ford has since passed away.
England fled the scene but later turned himself in.
Apparently, the two had a verbal argument over a girl at a nightclub earlier in the night. Both left the club and somehow ended up in the parking lot.
England was booked into jail on investigation of aggravated assault and will be in court on Monday.
