SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A northeastern Utah highway has opened one week after a clogged culvert created a 40-foot-wide sink hole that killed a teenage girl.
Utah Department of Transportation spokeswoman Tania Mashburn says State Highway 35 near Tabiona is now open for travel.
Tabiona is about 90 miles east of Salt Lake City, near the Uinta Mountains.
The road collapse happened just before midnight on July 13 and caused two cars to crash. One of the cars went into the 30-foot-deep hole and another crashed nearby, killing 15-year-old Justine Barneck. Two other people were injured, including the girl's father.
