MOAB — Volunteers searched areas near Moab Thursday looking for a missing skydiver.

David Roy Brown, 37, was last seen during the afternoon of June 29 near 488 Doc Allen Drive in Moab, according to information released by Brown's family. He is a member of the skydiving group Team Mandarin. Brown's belongings and personal identification were reportedly accounted for at his home.

The search included three Rocky Mountain Rescue search dogs, which reportedly picked up Brown's scent and led searchers to multiple places of interest. A second dog-led search will be conducted Friday, Brown's sister Wendi TeKamp said.

Clint MacBeth, owner of Skydive Moab, said Brown had been working for the company as an instructor for two months. Brown had been staying with MacBeth, he said, and before his disappearance gave no indication that anything was out of the ordinary.

"He just came in, said hello, went out and was gone," MacBeth said.

TeKamp, who lives in Canada, said she stayed in contact with her brother mostly through email and heard from him about 10 days before his disappearance. "There was no sense that there was anything strange or unusual or peculiar going on whatsoever," she said.

Brown's family requests that anyone with information on Brown's whereabouts contact the Moab Police Department. Moab police did not return calls for comment.

Brown is described as being 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds with green eyes and dark brown hair. Brown has four tattoos, including a black bat and a hummingbird on his shoulder, and an alien head and a mustache on his back.
