Sandra Yi ReportingA high-speed chase in Box Elder County ended with three suspects behind bars and a fourth on the run. The chase started overnight near Brigham City, and ended in Honeyville.
Police in Box Elder County are still looking for the 17-year old involved in this morning's high-speed chase. The chase lasted 15 minutes on a 10 mile stretch of road from Brigham City to Honeyville.
They chase began at about 2:00 this morning. An officer began following the vehicle when he noticed one of the passengers looked young and was possibly out after the city's midnight curfew. The officer tried to make a traffic stop after the driver ran a stop sign, but the driver only increased his speed, running through more red lights.
Speeds reached 95 miles an hour. Officers spiked the car's tires in Honeyville. That's when the car slowed down and the four teenage suspects tried to run.
Lt. Michael Nelsen, Brigham City Police Dept.: "We apprehended three of the juveniles, and one was not apprehended. There was another car stolen out in Honeyville, that maybe, we suspect he might have taken that one too."
Police believe the teen may have stolen a 1999 red Chevy Cavalier with Utah license plates 160-XHU.
Police say the car involved in the chase was stolen out of Ogden on Sunday. All four teens are from the Ogden area and told police they are gang members.
Police say the group was on a crime spree this morning, hitting homes and cars in Bountiful, Layton and Roy. Police recovered a lot of items in that stolen car.
