Wellington, New Zealand (dpa) - A book called The Punch Library of Humour has been returned to the Rotorua public library 61 years after it was taken out by a reader, New Zealand's TV3 reported Wednesday.
"I didn't find anything very funny at all in it," said Marie Sushames, who found it in a box of family mementoes.
But librarian Jane Gilbert said she was delighted to get the book back and waived the 9,000 New Zealand dollars (about 6,120 US dollars) in overdue fines. She also put the volume on display with a sign saying, "It's never too late to return a book."
