A tornado touched down in Springfield, Massachusetts around 4:20 on Wednesday afternoon, tossing cars and causing moderate damage. Twitter lit up with pictures from residents on the ground and reports said the tornado crossed the Connecticut River turning the storm briefly into a waterspout.
