All I can say is, there was a whole lot of squealing' going on at the screening of "Bratz: The Movie."
This story of four girls whose tight friendship starts to unravel as they work their way through the perils of high school could have been kinda cute.
Each girl has a different background, different angst and different gifts and the attempt to underscore that it's OK to be smart, stretch your wings and befriend others is admirable....but it's buried in fluff.
"Bratz: The Movie" is an immature train wreck between "Clueless," "Mean Girls" and "Legally Blonde."
Well, it's basically Le Bad Cinema…"Bratz: The Movie" and it's rated PG….Now, let's talk about something worth seeing, "The Bourne Ultimatum."
Matt Damon is back as Jason Bourne and in this third film, a London journalist, Simon Ross, played by Paddy Considine, catches Bourne's attention with his stories that shed light on, not only the secret CIA program, Treadstone, but on Bourne himself.
Determined to discover his past and deal with those who are trying to kill him, Jason confronts Ross, but having a private moment to chat and find out who the source is, seems not to be in the cards.
These revealing stories are also noticed by CIA official, Noah Vosen-played by David Strathhairn who sees the journalist as bait for Bourne and unleashes the assassins.
Joan Allen and Julia Stiles reprise their roles as Agents Pamela Landy and Nicky Parsons, both are becoming more and more alarmed by the direction and methodology employed by the agency….but, to what lengths will they go to straighten things out.
Damon has this character down and Allen delivers compelling complexity….there isn't a weak link in the entire cast.
This film leaves you breathless with it's non-stop, tight action. There's not as much plot or character development as the first two films…but wow, it's an amazing ride.
I like the "Bourne Ultimatum," 3 ½ stars and it's rated PG-13.
