WEBER COUNTY -- Curious motorists are causing a public safety risk by slowing to look at flooding in parts of Weber County.
Resident Shelly Strahan of West Warren told the Standard-Examiner cars are slowing to less than half of the speed limit as motorists take a look at the flooding Weber River from the bridge at 12th Street.

Weber County sheriff's deputies say some vehicles slow to 20 mph in the 50 mph zone.
Chief Deputy Klint Anderson told the paper deputies are reluctant to write tickets and because flooding is widespread, they cannot police all of the flooding areas in the county.
Deputies ask motorists not to slow down or stop on the bridge but to drive over it, then pull over at a wide spot in the road.
