SALT LAKE CITY -- An old, but new phishing scam is targeting users of ksl.com.

Users with ksl.com accounts are receiving emails advertising the features and success of KSL Classifieds and offering a free seven-day feature listing which includes:

  • Home Page Featured: Highest level of visibility
  • Gallery Featured: Places your item in the special section above the general picture gallery
  • Highlight: Colored bands
  • Border: Surrounds your listing with a border

The emails appear to come from a ksl.com email address and with the ksl.com logo, but are not from ksl.com.

The email asks users to confirm their identity to receive the "free" offer by "clicking to our link and in 24h your listing will be featured for 7 days."

However the link does not take you to the ksl.com website, but instead to a spoof website that asks for your ksl.com login and password. It then re-directs users to the real ksl.com home page.

The spoof website contains ksl.com imagery and a rip off of the ksl.com header giving the impression it is a legitimate ksl.com page.

ksl.com does not ask for personal or account information through email nor is it currently offering a free seven- day feature listing.

If you clicked onto the password and submitted your username and password, we suggest you change your password now.

You can change your password by:

  1. Going to ksl.com.
  2. Clicking on your name toward the top right hand corner, next to logout.
  3. Then go to password.
  4. Type in a new password.
  5. Retype it and click "submit changes."
