Traffic stop leads to discovery of 100-plus pounds of marijuana

SALT LAKE CITY — A Kansas man was charged Tuesday after state troopers found 116 pounds of marijuana hidden in his RV.

According to documents filed in 3rd District Court, the 58-year-old man was pulled over near the 1300 South exit of I-15 for failing to stay in one lane. During the stop the man consented to a search of his vehicle, whereupon troopers located the marijuana, as well as 5.7 pounds of hash, several glass pipes and rolling papers.

He was charged with possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a class B misdemeanor. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
