I saw Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix with my kids on Friday. Good movie as movies go but I fear that I am just getting tired of the story. My brother, who is an even bigger movie fan than Doug Wright, isn't even planning on seeing it. And I had a conversation with a friend of mine who saw the movie and was really disturbed by how dark and violent the series has become. "It's all about death, not magic!" he said. I Remember how enchanting and fun the first movies were. I know it's impossible to retain the novelty and J.K. had to move the story along, but sheesh, What happened to Quidditch, for example? And all the marvelous foods that magically appeared on the long tables?

As far as the book Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is concerned, my son Chad is reading it first in our family. I'm interested in reading the book so that I can conclude the story however I'm not telling him to hurry up so that I can get to it sooner. Even my 15 year old son Taylor is lukewarm and doesn't think he read it. This is really a departure from the earlier books and movies. My kids couldn't wait to see the newest movie and read the newest book.

Maybe it's like eating candy. The first couple of candy bars are delicious....but if you eat 7 in a row, it's just too much.
