(KSL News) -- In the summertime, you'll see a lot of "walk-a-thons' and races to raise money for charity.
Today it was a "Snowshoe-a-thon" up at Mountain Dell Golf Course. Nearly 400 people strapped on some snowshoes to help raise awareness about breast cancer.
Money raised from the event goes to the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
Vickie Venne, Pres., S.L. Chapter Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation: "And we do everything from support children who have parents with breast cancer; we have Hispanic support groups, we provide mammography for women who cannot afford it, and all of those things get funded by the money that these folks are helping us raise today."
Today's event raised about $25,000, about three times as much money as last year.
