SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah basketball player Bryant Markson pleaded not guilty Friday to a theft charge over a stolen parking permit found in his car.
Markson also pleaded not guilty to outstanding charges of driving with an open container and driving without proof on insurance at an arraignment Friday. A pretrial date was set for April 19.
Markson was suspended for last week's game against UNLV after a stolen parking pass was found in his car while the Utes were on the road for a game at Air Force. He was charged with theft of services, a Class B misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail or a $1,000 fine.
Markson, Utah's leading scorer, is expected to return to the lineup Saturday against TCU.
