This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Pain is a silent epidemic in the United States. The American Academy of Pain Management reports that an estimated 50 million Americans live with chronic pain caused by injury, disease or disorder. About two thirds of these people have been living with it for over five years.

That's quite a staggering thought and what a huge impact to our quality of life. Wouldn't you be all over it if you found someone who could give you relief from your pain? Dr. Matthew Wood is hoping to do just that through his business, Life Health Chiropractic in Cottonwood Heights.

He's a chiropractor trained in a wide variety of disciplines including sports injuries, prenatal care, decompression therapy and follow-up care from auto accidents. He also has a massage therapist on staff that his patients rave about. Massage has been proven effective in treating a variety of conditions including chronic neck and back pain and carpal tunnel.

Matt prides himself on having a fresh education and approach to care at Life Health Chiropractic. He's learned all the latest techniques and works with patients to develop a treatment plan to fit their needs.

In meeting with Matt, he told what memorable stories he had of taking care of patients. He told a story about one of his first patients, a female struggling with debilitating daily migraines. He put her on treatment plan with several visits each week for a couple months and by the time the treatment started spreading out, she'd only had one headache. Her husband was so impressed that he came for treatment as well. Within the first two weeks, his problems had already started going away.

Matt brings some unique experiences to the table that help distinguish his clinic from the competition. After graduating from chiropractic college in Dallas, Matt had the opportunity to work at the hospital where he treated a wide variety of extreme cases. He opened Life Health Chiropractic last fall and has enjoyed steady growth since then. For more information about his clinic, visit lifehealthchiropracticslc.com.
