SALT LAKE CITY --
The Zions Bank Women’s Financial Group Thursday announced the availability of applications for a series of micro-grants for women.
The Smart Women Grants — which are open to Utah and Idaho residents — are available in amounts up to $3,000 to candidates in six categories, including small-business startup and expansion, community development, continuing education and teacher support, child and elder care, health and human services, as well as arts and culture.
Applications are due by July 8, with grant recipients to be announced at the Zions Bank Smart Women Smart Money Conference on Sept. 28 in Salt Lake City.
Previous winners include the Family Support Center; a fruit gleaning project that minimized waste at local orchards; a local chapter of a national initiative to promote math and science among young women and minorities; a water safety video; and a jewelry company that supports the National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline.
Over the past six years, Zions Bank has awarded more than $130,000 though the Smart Women Grants program.
