TAYLORSVILLE — Police were questioning a man Monday afternoon in connection with a bank robbery.

Just before 12:30 p.m., a man walked into U.S. Bank, 4135 S. Redwood Road, and took an undisclosed amount of money, said Taylorsville Police Sgt. Tracy Wyant. It was not immediately known if a weapon was used.

Shortly after leaving the bank, police spotted a person who matched the description of the alleged bank robber near Valley Fair Mall, 2700 West and 3500 South.

"When officers approached, he resisted and became combative," Wyant said. "He did not cooperate initially."

The 44-year-old man was eventually taken into custody. No one was injured in the arrest. Wyant said the man was being questioned Monday afternoon to determine if he was responsible for the robbery.

Some "evidence" was collected at the scene, but Wyant declined to go into detail. He did not know whether any money was recovered.
