(KSL News) A Farmington family spent three hours Saturday night perched atop the St. Louis Arch when the power went out.

Candice Johnson says she was thrilled with the free entertainment. "We were stuck up there when they did a fireworks show, so we were able to see the fireworks from up high. So I actually enjoyed that," she says.

A sign of the times, Tim Johnson says one daughter was worried about what she was missing down on the ground. "My daughter, she was funny because when she knew we were going to be stuck there a while, she was really upset because she didn't have her new Harry Potter book there to read."

So, would the family visit the arch again? They say yes, but not for three hours high above the Mississippi River.
