Alex Cabrero Reporting Gas prices are slowly starting to creep up again. But according to AAA, Utah is the cheapest state for gas in the country. Nevertheless, some drivers say it's still too much.

Utah is averaging $2.08 a gallon. That's up 8 cents from last month. According to drivers we spoke with, paying two bucks a gallon is something we're still not used to.

You've probably noticed that gas prices are spilling over the 2-dollar mark again.

Peggy Tidwell sure noticed. "I just don't know how I can afford to keep going to work," she says.

She spends about 40-bucks a week going to work. For her, that's a big chunk of paycheck.

Peggy Tidwell/ West Valley: "I love my job, and I love where I work. But if gas prices keep going up, I'm going to have to find something closer to my house."

So imagine her surprise when we told her Utah is the cheapest state for gas in the country.

Peggy Tidwell: "Well, I guess I'm lucky to live in Utah!"

Gas prices are a big concern for everyone these days, it seems. That's why at the the Utah Auto Expo, it's what everyone is talking about.

Mark Antry/ Bountiful: "Oh definitely. I commute 50 miles round trip every day to work, and it's going to factor in."

Mark Antry and his brother were checking out the latest hybrids at the auto show. They were amazed to see the Toyota Prius can get 60 miles to the gallon.

Mike Antry/ West Jordan: "Oh, I think you can go a long way, especially if you commute back and forth to work."

Trevor Richardson travels the country showing cars at auto shows, and says gas prices have changed how customers shop.

Trevor Richardson/ Toyota: "It used to be room and power and all that. Now, it's gas mileage."

Hybrids are displayed throughout expo, showing the demand is there for better fuel economy.

Customers are demanding it.

Mike Antry: "I just bought a new car, and gas mileage was a consideration."

More and more popular models of cars are starting to come out as hybrid versions. With gas prices like these, even if we are the cheapest, it's always better to save some money.
