The producers of Broadway, New York play DOUBT were forced to stage the show with understudies in all the lead roles on Tuesday night (10JAN06) after all three stars were struck down with the flu.

EILEEN ATKINS, JENA MALONE and RON ELDARD were all forced to call in sick with severe colds, prompting producers of the Tony Award-winning JOHN PATRICK SHANLEY play to look for alternatives.

Eldard and Malone returned to the show yesterday (11JAN06) but Atkins isn't expected the rejoin the cast until tonight (12JAN06). (KL/WNWC/ES)
