OGDEN -- Ogden police used a Taser on a parole fugitive who they say tried to take an officer's gun.

The Standard-Examiner reports it happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday near 30th Street and 600 East in Ogden.

Police Lt. Eric Young told the paper two officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle with a man and two women inside. The man was lying to officers, got into a fight with one of them and tried to take his gun.

Officers used a Taser to subdue him.

He and one of the officers were taken to McKay-Dee Hospital with minor injuries.

The fugitive's name has not been released.
