(KSL News) The Orem City Council is putting news restrictions on youth rehabilitation homes.

The Deseret Morning News reports youth homes are now required to be 100 feet from any school and a half-mile from any other group home.

All facilities must have a six-foot-tall fence around the yards. Homes can only have 10 residents, none over the age of 20. They cannot house any person who may be a direct threat to others.

The restrictions come in response to concerns over the Project Ascent group home already under construction.
