SALT LAKE CITY — A man allegedly trying to buy drugs was arrested after accidentally dialing a police officer instead of his dealer.

About 3:45 p.m. Wednesday a man dialed what he thought was a dealer and asked to buy OxyContin, according to Salt Lake police. But the man unknowingly mis-dialed and got a Salt Lake City police officer instead.

The officer played along and arranged a drug deal near 2100 South and 700 East.

Willie Lemmon, 30, was arrested for investigation of multiple drug-related charges. Police said when officers found him, he was in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Utah State Court records show Lemmon has a criminal history of drug-related convictions, attempted robbery and attempted theft by extortion.
