SALT LAKE CITY -- Students at the Salt Lake Arts Academy are taking inspiration from one of history's most famous artists -- Michelangelo.
Even if it takes us the rest of the school year to get it done, at least that's a lot shorter than the four years that it took Michelangelo.

The group of fifth- and sixth-graders are being given the chance to stand in his shoes. They are painting the ceiling of the Arts Academy, just as Michelangelo painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.
In order to be true to Michelangelo's method, the students are standing on tables and painting as they look straight up. There is a slight difference -- they're painting on paper taped to the ceiling.
Their scenes come straight from what they've learned in history this year.
"Even if it takes us the rest of the school year to get it done, at least that's a lot shorter than the four years that it took Michelangelo," said teacher Lamar Holley.
Holley hopes the experience will give the students a greater appreciation for the Sistine Chapel.
